Battlefield
The Kaurava-Pandava armies came face to face in the Kurukshetra plain. Bhishma was ahead of the Kaurava army and was operating the army of Pandavas – Arjuna. When Arjun saw that he had to fight with his guru, grandfather, brother, and relatives, his heart trembled. He wondered what they would do about a state they would get by killing their loved ones.
Arjuna’s fascination and Geeta’s preaching
In order to remove Arjuna’s fascination and confusion, Shri Krishna preached Karmayoga, which is famous as Srimad Bhagavad Gita. He said that it has already happened, you only have to walk according to the Kshatriya religion. To practice religion, one must fight. Krishna showed his great form to Arjuna and said that the Kauravas have been destroyed due to unrighteousness. Arjuna saw that all the Kauravas are contained in the face of Shri Krishna. Arjuna’s love fell away and he was ready for war.
Before the start of the war, Yudhishthira got down from the chariot and went to Bhishma, the grandfather on his feet, and saluted him. Similarly, Yudhishthira also bowed to Kripacharya and Dronacharya and received the blessings of victory. Dhritarashtra’s son Yayutsu was so impressed by Yudhishthira’s religious policy that he left the Kauron army and joined the Pandavas.
First-day war
Arjuna started the war. Immediately a fierce war broke out. The Pandava-army trembled in front of Bhishma. Abhimanyu stopped Bhishma and cut his flag. Bhishma Pitamah was amazed to see Abhimanyu’s skills. In this day’s war, Virat’s son Uttara Kumar got Virgati. The end of the war was declared as soon as evening. Duryodhana was very pleased with the first day’s war. Yudhishthira told Shri Krishna that with today’s war, Pitamaha’s invincibility has been proved. Sri Krishna encouraged Yudhishthira.
Second-day war
On the second day, the Kaurava army led by Bhishma attacked the Pandavas, causing the Pandavas’ army to disperse. At the behest of Arjuna, Shri Krishna took his chariot in front of Bhishma. A fierce war broke out between Arjuna and Bhishma. Bhishma Sakshat was cutting the Pandava-army like Yamraj. Bhishma quit fighting Arjuna and ran towards Bhima. Bhishma’s charioteer got injured and fell from one arrow of Satyaki. As soon as he fell, the horses of the chariot ran away, which excited the Pandava army. It was evening, the generals on both sides rang the conch of the war.
Third-day war
On the third day also, one of the Kauravas did not stand in front of the Pandava-army. Duryodhana became unconscious with one arrow of Bhima. Duryodhana’s charioteer took him away from the battlefield. The Kauravas understood that Duryodhana had fled from the battlefield. There was a stampede among the soldiers. Then Bhima killed hundreds of soldiers. When the war stopped at dusk, Duryodhana went to Bhishma’s camp and said that you do not fight with your mind (mind). Bhishma got angry after hearing this and said that the Pandavas are invincible, yet I will try.
War from fourth to seventh day
On the fourth day, Bhishma attacked the Pandavas with great speed. There was an outcry in the Pandava army. Today even Arjun’s control was not going on in front of him. Fierce warfare continued on the fifth, sixth, and seventh days.
Eighth-day war
The war on the eighth day was pouring. On this day Maharthi Irwan, son of Arjuna’s second wife Ulupi, was killed. Arjun became very angry with his death. He destroyed a vast army of Kauravas. Seeing today’s fierce war, Duryodhana went to Karna. Karna consoles him that when Bhishma ends, he will end the Pandavas with his divine weapons. Duryodhana went to Bhishma Pitamah too and said, Pitamah, it seems you are not fighting hard. If you are supporting the Pandavas from within, then let me make Karna the commander. Bhishma Pitamah told Duryodhana that the warrior battles till the end. You have seen Karna’s valor in Virat Nagar. I will leave nothing to the battle of tomorrow.
Ninth day war
Arjuna was also injured by Bhishma’s arrows on the ninth day of the war. Krishna’s parts also fell into disrepair. Shri Krishna, forgetting his vow, picked up a wheel of chariot and ran to kill Bhishma. Arjuna too jumped from the chariot and clung to Krishna’s feet. It was evening and the war ended. Yudhishthira consulted Krishna at night. Krishna said that why should we not ask Bhishma how to overcome them. Shri Krishna and the Pandavas reached Bhishma. Bhishma said that Kaurava Paksha is invincible as long as I am alive. Bhishma Pitamah has revealed the secret of his death. Dhrupad’s son Shikhandi is a woman of previous birth. He did penance to Shiva for my slaughter. He was born as a girl in Drupada’s house, but da
Became a male again from the bride of nov. If Arjun shoots an arrow at me, then I will not fire.
Tenth-day war
On the tenth day of the war, Shikhandi stood in front of Bhishma Pitamah on behalf of Pandavas, upon seeing Bhishma gave up his weapon. At the behest of Krishna, Arjuna, with the guise of Shikhandi, dismembered Bhishma with his arrows and fell down from the chariot, but not on earth, but on the bed of arrows.
Bheeshm Parv chest
There was chaos on both sides as soon as Bhishma fell. Both Kauravas and Pandavas started mourning. Bhishma said, my head is hanging, remedy it. Duryodhana brought a pillow, but Arjuna hit three arrows under Bhishma’s head so that they became the base of the head. Then Bhishma said, he is thirsty. Duryodhana asked for water in a gold vessel, but Bhishma looked again at Arjuna. Arjuna hit an arrow on the earth so that a clean water stream burst and started falling on Bhishma’s mouth. After drinking the water, Bhishma ordered the Kaurava-Pandavas to go and said that I will give up my life when the sun is Uttarayan. Hearing the news of Bhishma falling on Sharyashya, Karna forgetting his enmity and went to meet Bhishma. He bowed to the grandfather. Bhishma blessed Karna and explained that the war can stop if you want. Duryodhana understands that with your help he will be victorious, but it is not possible to win Arjuna. You explain to Duryodhana. You are the brother of the Pandavas and the son of Kunti. Make peace on both sides. Karna said the grandfather has now reached the distance. I am now the son of Sut Adhirath, who has raised me. Having said this, Karna returned to his camp.
